LIP BLUSH PRECARE

 

Here’s a list if things to help better prepare yourself for your Lip Blush appointment.

 

  • Moisturizing and hydrating your lips are highly encouraged leading up to appointment. Dry and/or chapped lips cannot be worked on and will be turned away. Please come prepared and start moisturizing right when appointment is booked.

  • Exfoliate lips (2 days before, not day before). This will help provide a clean canvas for enhancements.

  • Refrain from all activities that may cause irritation or the skin or thinning of the blood prior to your appointment.

  • No tanning or major sun exposure, invasive facial procedures, tweezing, threading, shaving, waxing, tinting, bleaching, henna or laser at least 7-10 days before your appointment.

  • No botox or fillers, cosmetic procedures or surgeries. (4 weeks before and after)

  • No consumption of alcohol, caffeine, energy drinks, fish oil, vitamin E, aspirin, ibuprofen, painkillers, blood thinning medications (day before and day of appointment) *Please consult your physician before stopping any medication.

  • No working out or activities that produce excessive sweat.

  • COLD SORE PREVENTION: Clients who have a known history of cold sores or want to prevent a potential outbreak, MUST take an anti-viral medication (ex. Acyclovir, Zovirax, Valtrex or Lysine) at least 3 days before appointment and 3 days after. Failure to follow these instructions can affect the healing process and risk of an outbreak.

 

If you are experiencing any acne, blemishes, skin irritations leading up to your procedure please contact Tina Chen Beauty. It is up to the discretion of our artist to decide whether or not they have a workable service. Failure to communicate any of these may result in a cancellation or rescheduling of your appointment. All deposits are nonrefundable.

 

LIP BLUSH AFTERCARE

 

Immediately after you Lip Blush appointment, some swelling, bruising, tenderness are normal and will subside after 24-48hrs.

DO NOT FREAK OUT!

 

First 24 - 48 hours

  • Clean area with sterile water wipes in light dabbing motions. Use a clean disposable applicator to apply healing ointment.
    Q-tips and sterile water are an acceptable substitute for sterile water wipes. Must CLEAN AREA prior to applying ointment.

  • Drink liquids out of a straw and eat smaller bites of food

  • No spicy, greasy, oily, or hot soupy foods

  • No smoking

 

1 week after Appointment

  • No kissing, mouth to mouth contact, oral sex

  • No direct lip makeup application

  • No active ingredient products on or around the service area ( glycolic acid, lactic, acids, retin-A etc)

  • No excessive sweating or working out

  • No direct sun exposure for a long period of time

  • No direct contact with animals

 

2 weeks after appointment

  • No touching, scratching, rubbing, picking, licking the lip area

  • No tweezing, threading, shaving, waxing, tinting, bleaching, henna

 

4 weeks after appointment

  • No Botox or Fillers

HEALING PROCESS

 

DAY 1 – Lips will look vibrant and bold. Swelling or bruising will subside within 24 hours.

DAY 2 – Color will begin to settle and darken. Lips may still feel plump and full

DAY 3 – Lips begin to flake while looking and feeling chapped

DAYS 4 to 7 – Lips will flake off unevenly, revealing a much lighter color

DAYS 7 to 21 – Lips may still appear light and splotchy as color blooms back within the next few weeks.

DAYS 22 to 60 – Lips will have a subtle and softened blush to give you a perfect pout. Schedule recommended touchup

8-10 weeks after initial procedure.
